Give the euro a practical role in onchain finance.
Payments, trading and financial infrastructure are developing on blockchain networks. Europe should have credible euro-denominated options as those markets grow.
The Eurøpe Consortium brings together organisations committed to turning that ambition into practical adoption.
Join the consortiumA Manifesto For The Future Of European Finance
Finance is moving on-chain.
The internet became the better technology for storing and moving information, and so commerce, communication, and culture moved onto it. Blockchain is the better technology for storing and moving value — and over the next decade, the majority of the world's financial products and services will follow. Payments. Savings. Credit. Securities. The assets behind them. All of it.
This is the direction of travel, not speculation.
For a generation, Europe and the euro have been one of the two great pillars of global finance. European markets, European institutions, and European law have shaped how the modern financial system works. The euro is the second most-held reserve currency in the world.
That position is not guaranteed in the next era.
Finance that runs on the blockchain requires that its currency also exist on the blockchain. It requires a stablecoin.
The new rails of finance are already being built by the people who have spent the last decade rebuilding money on the internet and the blockchain — the digital-native challengers, the fintechs, the exchanges, the on-chain innovators. Many of the very best in the world are European.
Today, we are joining forces. Europe requires a strong euro stablecoin, and it requires it now. We are going to build it.
That is why we are launching The Eurøpe Consortium — a consortium to build, scale, and circulate the leading euro stablecoin.
At its core is EURØP: a euro stablecoin that is already live, already in use, and engineered from the ground up to give issuers, fintechs, exchanges, and banks the full advantages of blockchain technology together with the reliability, compliance and connectivity of Europe's existing financial and banking infrastructure.
This consortium is open. We invite every financial institution — digital-asset firms, fintechs, banks, asset managers, payment providers — that shares our conviction that Europe should lead in the next era of finance, not follow it.
The founding members of the Eurøpe Consortium are Schuman Financial, Assetera, BLOX, Coinhouse, Coinmerce, DFNS, etoro, LCX, RockawayX, SwissBorg and XRPL Commons.
We are writing the next chapter of European finance. Others are already joining.
Join us too.
The asset exists. The next task is wider use.
EURØP is already in circulation. The consortium brings together organisations that can help develop its distribution, infrastructure and applications.
Join us in shaping the next phase of euro-denominated onchain finance.
